I hold a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from California State University Los Angeles, and I am licensed with the State of California as both a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT 38821) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPC 196).  My seventeen years of experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist include supervision of Marriage and Family Trainees and Interns, and providing counseling services in a community service agency.  In that setting I work with depression, anxiety, survivors of an abusive childhood or violent relationships, marital conflicts, and myriad other issues.   I spent over fifteen years facilitating groups of men and women who were court mandated for intimate partner violence, and I have worked with victims of rape as a volunteer with the Pasadena YWCA Rape Crisis group.  In my practice I have seen great results and real change among my many clients.

The main focus of my private practice has been in treating individuals who struggle with love and sex addiction, cybersex addiction, and their partners who struggle with feelings of anger and betrayal.  In 2009 I completed a program in sex addiction with Patrick Carnes, a pioneer in the treatment of sex addiction; and with Pia Mellody, a pioneer in love addiction.  My training with Dr. Carnes required attendance at multiple training modules and supervision with a CSAT Supervisor. Maintaining my certificate as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) requires ongoing education designed to build continued expertise in providing sexual addiction therapy.  It is a rigorous process designed to help me best help you.  Sexual addiction is a complex addiction but there is hope!
